Finding peace in music

For some people music is the only thing that makes them feel alive. After the passing of his father, Hans Zimmer made music his best friend. Born in Germany, Hans learned to play the piano when he was a young child. He later kicked off his career in the 1970s by playing the synthesizers and keyboards with the band, Krakota. Reaching for the stars

Hans Zimmer got his big breakthrough when he was asked to write the score of the 1988 film, ?Rain Man.? He used steel drums and synthesizers in the score. The film was met with unprecedented success and garnered four Academy Awards including one in the category of the ?Best Picture.? Hans Zimmer?s score also earned him a nomination for an Academy Award in 1989. One year later, he was hired to write the score of Bruce Beresford Golden Globe winning film, ?Driving Miss Daisy.?
