Beck Tickets
American singer and musician Beck Hansen is one of the few artists in the industry who not only has defied genre classifications but has received immense adulation for the same. His style bears strong influences from folk, rock, hip hop, blues and many other forms of music. Besides, his song writing skills have earned him comparisons with the iconic music personality of Bob Dylan. Beck tickets are a hot item these days as the singer embarks upon his summer concert series.
Born and raised in a musical family, the love and knack for the art form came naturally to Beck. His father was a well known musician who had worked with renowned names in the industry. His mother also had strong music connections. She herself had been an actress and a part of an LA based punk band. Living with his mother in LA, Beck grew increasingly inspired of its rich and dynamic music life. His mother’s work of performing arts too impacted him in a profound and productive way. His own future work in the music field thus carried strong elements of his mother’s creative ventures.
During his teenage years, Beck went to New York to participate in the then occurring anti folk movement where various musicians and composers presented their unique experimental versions of the genre (folk). He enjoyed the experience thoroughly but lacked finances to settle in the city and eventually had to return to LA. Upon coming back he began to perform at LA clubs and parties alongside other local music bands. It was at this point in time that he caught the eye of Tom Rothroch, owner of an independent label Bongload Records. The two began random jam sessions which lead to the creation of a song that would soon become’s Beck’s most popular number. The single was called ‘Loser’ and it was released by Tom’s respective recording company. Within a matter of weeks ‘Loser’ gained immense local media attention and recording labels started approaching Beck to launch his official studio album.
Subsequently Beck released his first record under the well known DGC Records. The title of the album was ‘Mellow Records’. It brought the hit LA single ‘Loser’ to a larger public eye that welcomed the single with sold out copies and ranked it amongst the top ten of the US music charts. The album received positive reviews on the part of the critics and stood on number thirteen on different countdowns.
Beck’s next album ‘One foot in the grave’ brought to light his lyric writing skills which reflected his increased level of maturity and focus. The following record called ‘Odelay’ put Beck right at the top most spots of music countdowns. On the other hand, it left critics stunned who subsequently gave his music positive and encouraging reviews. Apart from being certified platinum, the album earned the music artist two prestigious Grammy awards, one for Best Alternative Music Performance while the other for Best Rock Male Performance. During the next couple of years, Beck toured across several cities in support of his albums and soon came to be regarded as a thorough live entertainer.
Beck’s following pair of records namely ‘Midnite Vultures’ and ‘Mutations’ got considerable appreciation but it was with the album ‘Sea Change’ that Beck regained top spots on the music charts. The record depicted a shift in the music pattern for the artist. The reason for this change is quoted by some as a long time courtship which ended in a painful break up.
The succeeding album ‘Guero’ brought the lively and cheerful aspect of Beck back to life. The collection of this album was produced through collaboration with Dust brothers. Some of its hit songs are ‘E-Pro’ and ‘Girl’. Other musical contributions by the alternate singer include records like ‘The Information’ and ‘Modern Guilt’, released in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
Last year the musician came up with a unique concept of producing a collection of sheet music under the title ‘Song Reader’. In simpler words the collection carries paper music notes and no audio recordings. Beck has never followed conventional patterns in any form of his creative work and this assortment of song reads is a manifestation of the same trait by this gutsy singer.
Beck is now coming your way to present a collection of his most famous tunes, old and new. So get your Beck tickets and enjoy a live performance of the multifaceted musician.
