This pretty much sums up Anuel AA’s musical journey. His career was a just a mixtape (“Real Hasta La Muerte: The Mixtape”) year old in 2016 when he was arrested on the charges of arms possession. Since AA cooperated with the authorities his sentence was reduced from 5 years to 30 months.

Even behind the bars AA was working on becoming famous, as his management kept releasing new songs that were sitting in his repertoire. Since he was able to record his voice in the prison, he collaborated with artists like Bad Bunny, Cosculluela, J Balvin and Nicky Jam. Their songs were presented to the fans in the form of “Yesterday 2”.

Supporting music videos were released with these songs and it led to the #FreeAnuel campaign by his massive fan following. The song “Bebé” composed and sung by Ozuna also featured Anuel AA’s voice and it went on to become a huge hit.

Following his release and after he performed in a live concert for the first time in more than two years, AA voiced his gratitude in words, “From night to day, I got out of prison and went from 0 to 100. I am still getting used to everything that is happening to me and learning to handle fame and money”.

A Run Down on AA’s Achievements

Spearheading the Latin trap movement, Anuel AA caught a lot of flak for his explicit lyrics and uncompromised language glorifying drugs, sex and murder. Radio channels termed his songs too risqué to be played online and thus he started posting them on media sharing websites. Soon AA was able to garner a huge fan following. Here’s what he has achieved so far.

• More than one million followers on all social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
• His YouTube viewership has also exceeded 20 million, surpassing 200 million hits for the track “La Ocasión”.
• AA’s collaboration with Ozuna on his album “Odisea” produced the chartbuster “Bebé”. The song spent 32 straight weeks on number one position on the Billboard’s Top Latin Albums.
• In support of their confined cohort, artists like Daddy Yankee paid tribute to his talent by creating the remixed version of 2016’s “Sola”. It kept Anuel AA’s music alive among his fans.
• In just few hours before his release from prison, AA’s debut album “Real Hasta La Muerte” was made available for streaming and digital downloading.
• The album topped the Latin Albums charts and produced trap bangers like “Yeezy” and “Na’ Nuevo”.

The Tour

What better way to enjoy your newfound freedom than performing in front of a jam-packed crowd. Basking in the glory of his hit album, Anuel AA is taking the celebration on the road.

“Real Hasta La Muerte” tour is a grand one, starting in November 2018 and is stretched well into 2019. Anuel AA tickets sales began in October and so far several shows have been declared close to selling out.

A liberating experience for the Puerto Rican rapper, he’s grateful to all those people who didn’t lose faith in him. “Thanks to you, I am who I am now.” Here’s hoping that AA has learned from his mistakes and will now steer his musical career smartly, thus touching newer heights. Amen!
