Although Ballet BC is extremely popular in Vancouver for its production titled "The Nutcracker", but that is definitely not all that it has to offer. This time around it has an amazing line up ready for its upcoming shows this year as it is their 60th anniversary. It promises to showcase dances that are going to be exciting and thrilling to watch for its audience. It will feature work that is going to be dynamic, vibrant and pure excellence as far as dance is concerned. Ballet BC is going to live up to its reputation of being one of the most prominent modern ballets, be it nationally, locally or even internationally.  

First up in Ballet BC’s lineup is going to be ‘The National Ballet of Canada 60th Anniversary Tour’ that is going to have Jerome Robbins as its choreographer, one of the best of our times. He is known to have won both an Academy Award as well as a Tony Award and has also received the Kennedy Center Honors. He is a prominent choreographer who has done everything, be it classical ballet or the modern day music theater. So you can definitely expect something that is going to blow your mind away. Ballet BC’s this show will feature the magic of classical ballet with the romance brought about with the passionate lyricism of the legendary Chopin. The other choreographer who’s going to be a part of it is William Forsythe, an American by origin. He is famous internationally for working with the Forsythe Company and Ballett Frankfurt. A performance called Emergence is a breathtaking theater like dance on the unique electronic music by Owen Belton. 

Ballet BC has lined up "Love Lies Bleeding" next, which has Bernie Taupin and Sir Elton John as its inspiration behind it and also features music by them.  It is a vibrant theatric representation of treacherous, wild and powerful universe of pop music and contemporary ballet and features fourteen of the most remarkable songs of Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin. It is actually the story of a British Knight who is a fan of Sir Elton John and how he goes from being a part of the audience to fantasizing himself living the life of his idol. With spectacular costumes by Martine Bertrand and choreography by Jean Grand-Maitre, it will dazzle you with its brilliance.

After that Ballet BC will present "3 Fold", with choreography by Simone Orlando, who used to be a part of the company in the past. The other productions that it is going to feature include "The Nutcracker", "Walking Mad and Other Works", "Bliss" and "Svengali". "The Nutcracker" is a charming and enchanting performance that is going to be liked and enjoyed by people of all ages, from older audience to young children and everyone in between is going to fall in love with this one. It has magnificent sets and sparkling costumes along with magical moves by Edmund Stripe. Made on a budget of 1.5 million, this Ballet BC show is worth every cent as it is grand and majestic in every way. It’s a wholesome entertainer for the whole of the family with music, dance and princesses galore.
Next up performance by Ballet BC is "Walking Mad and Other Works" and is choreographed by Johan Inger, Aszure Barton and Emily Molnar. It is full of humor, pain, emotion and surprises that are going to leave you captivated and mesmerized. "Bliss" is also going to be an unforgettable show. Jose Navas has choreographed the dance moves in it and the music is by Ravi Shankar, Philip Glass and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Last but not the least is "Svengali", which is based upon Trilby, a novel by George Du Maurier. It is a fascinating psychological drama which is rampant with emotions and mesmeric choreography.
