Wicked New Orleans Tickets

Wicked New Orleans LA show is a musical with book written by Winnie Holzman and lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz. The story is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West written by Gregory Maguire in 1995, which itself presents a plot that runs parallel to the 1939 feature film called The Wizard of Oz, while also incorporating themes from a classic story written by L. Frank Baum in 1900, called The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The musical revolves around two witches, who present a complete antithesis of each other, with Glinda being a beautiful, likeable, blonde while Elphaba is the misunderstood, green- skinned one. The two witches are friends, when they come to fall in love with the same person, form whereon the plot thickens.

Wicked New Orleans LA show has been produced many times since 2003, beginning with a tryout in San Francisco, from where the show debuted on Broadway just after a few months, following which it took its first tour of the United States in 2005. In 2006, the musical was taken to London’s West End, after which it was regularly produced in many international spots. The show has won several awards including a Helpmann Award in 2009 for Best Musical, Drama Desk Awards for orchestration, book and musical in 2004, and an Outer Critics Circle Award in 2004 for Outstanding Broadway Musical.
