That’s how the TV Guide ranked the Price Is Right, placing it on number 5 on its 2013’s list of the “60 greatest game shows ever”. Around since 1956, generations have grown up with show that initially featured the host Bill Cullen. The black and white format was revamped in 1972 and Bob Barker replaced Cullen. Following a simple system of audience guessing the price of everything ranging from utility items to vacations, the show thrived on its interactive style.

With Drew Carey as its current host, the show entered its 43rd season in 2014 and also celebrated its 800th episode. The very next year it reached another milestone – the longest running game show of all time. On the surface it might seem as a simple game show but a lot of effort goes into making it top-quality entertainment.

The producer Stan Blits makes sure that he screens each and every audience member, looking for traits like sincerity, energy and humor in the participants. The Price Is Right – Live Stage Show is equally successful as its mainstay, treating the audience to fun-filled moments.
