Perfectly created for the stage, the musical is directed by Des McAnuff and has its roots in the life and songs of The Temptations. Through incredible visual projections, the audience is taken back in time when the band was formed and how they went on to become a significant force in the music world.

What Makes Ain’t Too Proud a Hit

Even though the Broadway production of Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations wrapped up in January 2022, its popularity prompted the makers to announce a national tour. Scenic designer Peter Nigrini intentionally makes use of images that help the audience relate to the band's important moments. The transitioning visuals connect the audience with the past and allow them to visualize highlights of The Temptations' career. Lighting by Howell Binkley enhances each performance, and costumes created by Paul Tazewell carefully follow precision. He is able to capture the personality of each of the founding members and develop a look that is close to reality. The electrifying journey of The Temptations is told from the perspective of the only surviving founding member, Otis Williams. For the touring production, an ensemble cast has been roped in, and actor Michael Andreaus has been brilliantly portraying the character of Williams. He is most likely going to be a part of the touring production, essaying Otis Williams' charisma and charm.
