The Book of Mormon Detroit MI show is an entertaining act of musical comedy. The religious satire gives an insight into the nature of faith. It tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries, who go to a Uganda village to spread their religion, but are not sure of their own beliefs. It shakes their naïve confidence when they are confronted with real concerns the natives face like war, poverty, famine and AIDS.  The missionaries discover that they have no real answers to the questions they ask.

The setting and situation brings out the humor. All holy things from "heaven" to "self-suppression" are subject of humor in this musical satire, but done in a way that does not come out as mean.
