The musical premiered at the Bank of America Theatre in 2012 in Chicago. The musical features Tony winning score by Cyndi Lauper. The uplifting book is written by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. With direction and choreography of the Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, the musical is one not to be missed.

The infamous musical draws its inspiration from a true story. Touching the universal theme of father son relationship, the story follows Charlie who is struggling to handle the shoe business of his deceased father. A helping hand in disguise of a drag queen Lola supports Charlie through his struggles and provides him with a direction. Together they become unstoppable and realize that they have a lot in common than they thought. Narrating the theme of ‘acceptance’ the plot depicts that when you change your perspective of looking at people differently, your entire world can change.

The musical is soon coming to Los Angeles to entertain the theatergoers at the Pantages Theatre. Opened in 1930, the palatial ‘Art Deco’ theater accommodates about twenty seven hundred people.
