If you want a truly magical night filled with high-quality entertainment, grab these Disney On Ice Follow Your Heart Tickets before they run out. Disney on Ice is a series of ice shows that recreates Disney’s on-screen magic with the use of figure skaters on ice. The performers all dressed up as various characters from Disney movies perform their parts in mock cameos, while the identities of the skaters performing are hidden. The production is a result of a business venture between Feld Productions and Walt Disney Company. After the purchase of Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice in 1979 by Mattel’s Irvin & Kenneth Feld Productions, the company approached Disney to strike a deal to bring Disney on Ice in 1981.
The Shows of Disney on Ice
Starting in 1995 with Passport to Adventure, Disney On Ice originally featured 101 Dalmations, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Sorcerer Mickey, Goofy and Max Goof and The Little Mermaid. The original show went under several changes to the name and to the lineup of stories it represented. Next came 100 Years of Magic, opening in 1999, which included stories such as Aladdin, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and others. Frozen, The Princess and the Frog and Tangled were added to the lineup in 2015.
After 100 Years of Magic came Dream Big in 2006. This shared the wonderful stories of many favorite Disney princesses and heroic characters, including Snow White, The Prince, The Beast, Prince Charming, Princess Aurora, Jasmine, Belle, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, Tiana, Prince Phillip, Cinderalla, Prince Naveen, Anna, Elsa, Tinker Bell and so on. Mulan was also represented in the show up till 2011.
Worlds of Enchantment opened on August 21, 2008, originally as Worlds of Fantasy. The stories represented in the show included Cars, the Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Tinker Bell. Toy Story 3 replaced Lion King in 2011 and Frozen replaced Tinker Bell in 2015.
In 2011, Disney on Ice came out with Dare to Dream. The featured stories in this production included The Princess and the Frog, along with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, Cinderella with her Prince Charming, Snow White and Tangled with Rapunzel. The Princess and the Frog continued to be the main act of this show up until 2013, when it was replaced by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
In 2012, Magical Ice Festival opened, featuring choreography by Patty Vincent. The Japanese production was known by the name Amazing Anniversary. Featured stories in this production included Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, The Little Mermaid and Frozen.
2014 saw the tour start of Frozen, featuring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Tangled, Frozen, Toy Story and Cinderella.
And now in 2016, the much awaited Follow Your Heart is all set to open in September in Orlando, Florida. This will feature stories and characters from the recent fan favorite Finding Dory, Inside Out, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog, Fantasia 2000, Brave, Cinderella, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Join the beloved characters of these Disney classics in their adventures on ice, in what is expected to be a highly mesmerizing set of performances. What makes this production of Disney on Ice so special is the “variety of stories about self-discovery, courage and compassion” that it explores, according to the Executive Vice President of Feld Entertainment, Nicole Feld. She says that, “each element of this show was carefully planned so our fans could experience favorite Disney moments while believing in their own destiny.”
