Come From Away is the creative brainchild of David Hein and Irene Sankoff who not only provided the music and lyrics but also wrote the book of this musical. The musical was first performed at the Sheridan College in Oakville before it went on to enjoy a record breaking runs at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and the Seattle Repertory Theatre in 2015. The following year, it was staged at the Ford’s Theatre in Washington and was soon staged at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre.

On March 12, 2017, Come From Away debuted on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and became a huge success. This production of the show won three Drama Desk Awards including one for, ‘Outstanding Musical’ and featured stars like, Chad Kimball, Jenn Colella, Joel Hatch, Rodney Hicks and Caesar Samayoa.
