For those of you who are frequent followers of the wrestling brand, these few facts would be of great interest. Let’s take a look:
John Cena has had the most matches on Raw than any other wrestler. It has been a close competition between Kane and Cena, especially in the last few years, but as of January 2018, Cena has been in 449 matches. Kane is just two games behind him.
But John Cena does not hold the record for the most victories. Jeff Hardy holds the record for the most matches won in a single year. And Hardy’s road was pretty hard – he had to defeat big names such as Ric Flair, Triple H and Umaga to get his record 34 matches winning streak back in 2007.
The longest running segment in the history of WWE Raw was the very popular “This Is Your Life” segment which featured The Rock. Mick Foley threw a birthday surprise for the iconic wrestler, bringing a lot of people back from the past. The segment got 8.4 million views – the highest in the history of the event.
The longest match in the history of WWE Raw was the famous match between Triple H and Chris Beniot in June 2004. The match was a 60-minute long Ironman Match that is still talked about today. Benoit bagged the victory in this match.
The match that holds the second place in this category was an intense one between Shawn Michaels and John Cena in 2007. In an unexpected twist of event, Michaels was able to bag victory in this one in 55 minutes and 49 seconds. This match is also widely regarded as the best match in the history of RAW.
Another matter of interest is the number of themes that the wrestling show has. WWE RAW has ten permanent themes and three temporary ones. Starting from the standard “Monday Night Raw” in 1993 by Jim Johnstone to the current theme, “Enemies” by Shinedown, the themes for the brand have been as iconic as the brand itself.
And as for the most interesting fact about WWE Monday Night Raw, the creator of the show, Vince McMchon had a very different look in mind for the wrestling series. He apparently wanted RAW to have a more polished look, with a ballroom setting and elegant dinners being served to patrons along with the match – a high class dinner theater basically.
Well thank god that idea did not go through! If you want to catch the normal WWE Monday Night Raw in action, you have got to get these WWE Monday Night Raw live tickets at the earliest!
