The NFL Pro Bowl is the National Football League’s all-star game, and features the top performing players from the NFL. Previously played as a match-up between the top players of the AFC and NFC, the 2014 game will feature a new format, in which the players will be picked by the opposing captains, in a fantasy draft. The Pro Bowl game is traditionally played at the scenic and historic Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will once again return to the famous stadium. NFL Pro Bowl tickets will give you the opportunity to not only visit the beautiful city, but will also give you the opportunity to watch the various star players of the NFL, battling it out on one pitch.
The NFL Pro Bowl is an all star football game, usually played between the top players of the Nation Football Conference (NFC) and the top players from the American Football Conference (AFC). It has been called the AFC-NFC Pro Bowl as a result, and signifies the pre-merger rivalry of the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL).
The Pro Bowl is usually held towards the end of the season, which is opposed to other professional sports, where all star games are usually held during the middle stages of the regular season. Featuring some of the best talent from the NFL in one game, this is an event football lovers would not want to miss out on. So buy NFL Pro Bowl tickets now and make plans to attend the biggest event of the NFL.
The first ever All-Star professional football game was reportedly played in 1938. The NFL liked the idea and introduced their version, with the first All Star game being played in 1940. Although it was planned to be an annual event, the game was discontinued in 1942 as World War II set in.
The concept was revived in 1950 and the first twenty one games of the new All Star match-up were played in Los Angeles. Multiple venues followed, before the game finally shifted to the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. It has been staged there every year since 1980, except for in 2010, when it was played at the Sun Life Stadium.
As of 2011, certain aspects of the famous bowl game have changed. Firstly, it will now be held during the week before the Super Bowl. Secondly, conference teams cannot field players who are scheduled to play in the Super Bowl, to protect them for getting injured.
For the upcoming All Star Bowl game, following some serious deliberations, it has also been decided that the teams fielded in the game will no longer be NFC vs. AFC, and instead the teams will be selected by captains in a fantasy draft. Over recent years, the teams were selected by the input of coaches, fans and the players themselves, to decide the teams, but now, the captains have the last say. There has also been a change to how the coaching staff for each team will be determined. The 2014 game will feature coaches from the two teams who lost in the Divisional Playoffs but had the best records overall.
The outstanding player in the game is awarded the Pro Bowl MVP trophy, which is considered one of the greatest honors in the sport. This is because a player wins the MVP award in a match featuring the best talent pool of the NFL. If you also want to watch the best players from the NFL season compete in one match together, then buy NFL Pro Bowl tickets, and head on down to Hawaii to catch live action from the game.
