Baseball

The Missouri Tigers baseball program is one of the top programs in college baseball today. The program has produced five College World Series appearances with their last appearance being in 2019 when they advanced to the super regionals before losing to Arkansas 2-1. Since 2016 they have won four regular season conference titles and two postseason tournament championships as well.

Softball

The Missouri softball program is another powerhouse program that has enjoyed much success over its years at Mizzou. Since joining the SEC in 2013, they have won three regular season conference titles as well as three SEC Tournament Championships; this includes winning back-to-back tournament titles from 2018 to 2019 and becoming just the fourth school ever to do so in Division I softball history.

The team has also made six trips to NCAA Super Regionals with their highest finish coming in 2018 when they advanced to the Women's College World Series for the first time ever before eventually falling short against Florida State 4-3 in extra innings of game three.

Track & Field/Cross Country

The track & field/cross country programs at Missouri are among some of their greatest successes having combined for 18 individual national championships between both men's and women's teams across all divisions since 2009 according to USTFCCCA records; 15 were earned on the track while 3 were earned on cross country courses during that same span of time as well.

Over 25 athletes have been named All Americans during that same period, with five earning multiple All American awards each since 2009; this includes Phyllis Francis who became a quadruple All American after competing during her career at Mizzou from 2012-2016 where she was honored seven times overall by USTFCCCA (3× Indoor Track Athlete Of The Year, 1× Outdoor Track Athlete Of The Year).

Greatest Players in Missouri Tigers History

The Missouri Tigers have boasted some of the greatest collegiate athletes in history since their inception in 1890. From dominating football teams to championship-winning basketball squads, it’s no wonder that many of these stars have gone on to professional success. Here are some of the greatest players in Missouri Tigers history:

Brad Smith

A fan favorite, Smith was an outstanding dual-threat quarterback for the Tigers from 2002-2005. His legacy includes a school-record 8,849 passing yards and 3,190 rushing yards. He earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2005 and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as the nation’s top senior QB that same year. Smith was inducted into Mizzou’s Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010 and continues to be remembered as one of the greatest players in program history.

Lawrence Phillips

During his two years with Missouri, Phillips rushed for 2,777 yards and scored 30 touchdowns overall (27 rushing). He was an All-American selection as a junior in 1995 and became a first round pick by the St. Louis Rams when he decided to declare early for the NFL Draft following that season. His highlights at Missouri include being named MVP of both the 1995 Alamo Bowl (rushed for 165 yards) and 1996 Cotton Bowl (rushed for 117 yards).

Jeremy Maclin

Drafted by Philadelphia Eagles 19th overall in 2009 after spending three seasons in Columbia, Maclin posted ridiculous numbers at Mizzou with 157 receptions (second all-time) for 2,776 receiving yards (first all-time) and 22 TDs (tied sixth all-time). He was named a consensus All-American in 2008 while being selected first team All-Big 12 Conference on three separate occasions during his career at Missouri. Maclin still holds four school records as well as numerous other conference marks associated with wide receivers.

Aldon Smith

Known more today for his off-the field antics than anything else, Smith is considered one of Missouri’s most dynamic defensive threats ever seen during his two seasons donning black & gold from 2009–2010. In total, he racked up 24 sacks along with 11 forced fumbles which both lead all active FBS players at time he declared early for NFL Draft following 2010 season. Smith was selected seventh overall by San Francisco 49ers 2011 NFL Draft becoming second highest drafted Tiger ever behind only Quentin Coryatt who went second overall in 1992 draft to Indianapolis Colts.
