The Kansas City Chiefs have had a roller coaster of a past in football. Having said that, over the last few years, they have been busy doing everything possible to incorporate some consistency into their game and all that hard work seems to be paying off now.

First Foray

The Chiefs were created in 1960 as the Dallas Texans and were initially part of the AFL. They made a great start to life among the big boys and managed to post winning seasons in their first two years in the league. They would follow this feat up by winning the AFL Championship in only their third year after formation. Later that season they moved to Kansas and continued their good run of form there as well.

Continued Success

The Chiefs would start their tenure in Kansas by posting their first losing season in history, however they were back to their best soon enough and in 1966, they managed to win an AFL Championship yet again. Three years later, in 1969, they would win their third AFL Championship and would follow that up by becoming the second AFL team, after the Jets, to win the AFL-NFL Super Bowl. All in all they have won three AFL Championships, one Super Bowl and eight division titles.
