Eric Burdon is a singer-songwriter and lead vocalist for the famous rock band The Animals. Eric is commonly known for his lively and powerful live performances. The Animals was formed in 1963 in Newcastle, England. Eric Burdon joined the band “Alan Price Combo”, a ban d from 1958, as the lead vocalist and changed the name of the band some time later. Their music was a combination of electric blues and they were considered as one of the leading British bands in U.S. They introduced the British music to the world along with bands such as “The Rolling Stones”, “The Beatles”, “The Kinks” and “The Who”. By 1966, most of the band members including Alan Price of Alan Prince Combo left the band to start is solo career. Eric Burdon took the reins and started reforming the band with new band members. The name of the band was changed to “Eric Burdon and the Animals” and was often called “Eric Burdon and the New Animals” too.
