The American punk rock band Rise Against was formed in 1999 in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed by the ex-members of the two broken bands ‘88 Fingers Louie’ and ‘Baxter’. Rise Against currently consists of four band members including Tim Mcllrath as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Zach Blair as lead guitarist and backing vocalist,, Brandon Barnes as drummer and percussionist and Joe Principe as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist.
The band Rise Against released its first album ‘The Unraveling’ in 2001 and the second one in 2003. Both these were released while it was in contract with Fat Wreck Chords. After five years, the band signed in with Dreamworks Records in 2004 but it was taken over by the Universal Music Group and the band ended up signing with ‘Geffen Records’. The release of their third album ‘Siren Song of the Counter Culture’ with Geffen Records started the band’s real success story. Three singles from this album became massively popular. ‘The Sufferer & the Witness’ debuted at #10 on Billboard 200, and is band’s most successful and critically acclaimed album which has sold more than 800,000 copies.
A DVD ‘Generation Lost’ was also released the same year and went Gold in the very first week of release. It was basically a documentary of the band and included all its live performances. The next album ‘Appeal to Reason’ appeared at #3 on the Billboard 200, it was released in 2008 and included hit numbers.

Two of the members left the band in 2001 and Todd Mohney joined in. During the initial few years, the band toured extensively with other bands including AFI, The Mad Caddies, Strung Out, No Use For A Name, NOFX and few more. Their third album became widely popular even outside the US because of the extensive tour in multiple countries. The notable performances by Rise Against include the UK Tour in the year 2005, at the Leeds Festival, Give it a Name 05 and the Reading Festival. Some other significant tours include the US Warped Tour and the tours with ‘My Chemical Romance’ and ‘Alkaline Trio’ in 2007. It also performed with Billy Talent in Canada.

Rise Against is a politically-influenced punk band which has become enormously successful worldwide. The band has always included the current events or the top stories in their albums. The latest album titled as ‘Endgame’ has just been recorded in 2011. It has a critical view of the American landscape, depicts hope as well as trepidation in the songs. Rise Against has the image of a loud, bold, questioning as well as a rebellious band. It promotes different things, which no one would ever have thought to do through music. Issues such as the animal rights, vegetarians, PETA supporters and several other things are included in their political lyrics. Rise Against at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego

Rise Against proved why they are one of the best melodic hardcore bands in the world when they put out their fifth consecutive Top 10 album, ‘Wolves’ in 2017. The record received a 76/100 rating from Metacritic and contained a single, The Violence which reached second spot on the Mainstream Rock chart.

They have now announced that they will be performing live as a part of iHeartRadio ALTer Ego, an annual concert which is produced by KIIS-FM. The group will not be the only one to perform there as they will be joined by other acts including, Twenty One Pilots, The Killers, Muse, Weezer, Bishop Briggs and The Revivalists. This musical extravaganza is scheduled to take place on January 9, 2019 at The Forum in Inglewood. So, will you be watching the live performance by Rise Against at the iHeartRadio ALTer Ego?
