The legendary group Los Bukis is unarguably one of the most important names in the history of Latin music. They have been entertaining fans ever since they released their first song “Falso Amor.'' The song turned out to be a smash hit that gained them international attention. 

The album dubbed "Me Volvi A Acordar De Ti" launched in 1987 was a massive hit. Mexico’s premier songwriters and producers, Marco Antonio was the songwriter behind the hit songs from the album.  Me Volvi A Acordar De Ti sold one million records in just a few weeks. Soon the album earned a "diamond" status. This was a big achievement as only legends such as The Beatles and Michael Jackson were able to do it in those times.

Not only did Marco Antonio Solís write songs for himself, but also wrote and produced for other acts. The band together has released 16 studio albums and has given several chart-topping and multi platinum songs. Los Bukis has the credit of ruling  Mexico's pop-music scene in the 80s.

Last Release

The band’s last release before they went their separate ways was in 1995. The album was dubbed, “Por Amor a Mi Pueblo” (”For Love of My Town”) and it was certified gold. After a year they announced the end of Los Bukis. 

The Legendary Group Disbands

1996 was the year that marked the end of Los Bukis. The band enjoyed limelight and the love of their fans for twenty years before Marco, the lead singer decided to go solo. As Marco had the copyrights of the band’s name, other members had to continue with their music journey under a new name for the band. They named it Los Mismos meaning "The Same Ones".

2021 Reunion

On May 9, 2021 Los Bukis surprised its fans. During the pandemic in a livestream performance Latin legend Marco Solís invited the unexpected guests at the end of his Bohemia En Pandemia show. Much to the delight of the fans it was the former members of Los Bukis. 

This marked the first time that the band played together for the first time after they had disbanded with a final show in Guadalajara on May 18, 1996. They also performed a new version of “Tú Carcel”.

According to Marco, the lead singer, the reunion wasn’t planned, but it can be said that the prevailing Covid situation brought them closer. It was a time for reflection. The band got in touch in the challenging times and the idea to do a tour came up, so here it is. 

The legendary Mexican group Los Bukis has also launched the music video for their new version of the classic “Tú Carcel.” It came after a few weeks of their reunion. The video features a touching message from Solís of their reunion. The teammates are wearing red jackets which has “Los Bukis” written. 

This video was enough to get the fans excited who were looking forward to more announcements. And out they came with another news on June 14, 2021. Los Bukis at the Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium appearance revealed plans for the limited engagement of concerts. Five members of the band, including lead singer Marco Antonio Solis, attended the announcement, and  Joel Solis and José “Pepe” Guadarrama joined in via video. The new tour is dubbed "Una Historia Cantada".

Los Bukis’s 25-Year hiatus finally ends with a sold-out show in Inglewood

Los Bukis has kicked off their 2021 tour in their signature iconic style that they had over two decades ago. The first concert of the band after a 25-year hiatus saw thousands of fans in a sold-out show at Inglewood. The SoFi Stadium was packed to the brim on Friday night as the fans thronged in from all over the country to see these legendary artists for the first time in 25 years. Los Bukis will be performing back to back nights in Inglewood and so far their performances have been a sight to behold. After the concert, paparazzi surrounded the attendees of the concerts and the delighted and enthralled fans said that they still wanted a lot more of their favorite band. Many said that they would not want to miss the upcoming performances of the band but they were not sure if they would be able to get the tickets.
