About LANY
Formed in March of 2014, LANY came together when lead vocalist Paul Klein, eager to expand his music career, decided to fly to Nashville to meet two of his friends, Les Priest and Jake Goss. The trio decided to come together to create music and recorded two singles, ‘Walk Away’ and ‘Hot Lights’. They uploaded these singles onto SoundCloud, where the singles started gaining traction. When they initially uploaded these songs, they kept their identities hidden in order to not interfere with their other music projects.
Later that same year, they released their first EP, Acronymns. This was followed by the release of the song "ILYSB", which was a massive hit online. They later released two more singles, "Made in Hollywood" and "Bad, Bad, Bad". Afterwards, they would reveal who they were and stop keeping their identities a secret.
By 2015, LANY was ready to hit the road. They embarked on several American tours supporting artists such as Halsey, Twin Shadow, X Ambassadors, Troye Sivan, and Tove Styrke. After their extensive touring cycle, they released another EP, I Loved You. They also played at Lollapalooza that year.
With each show, they were expanding their fan base and winning people over with their unique and nostalgic sound.
LANY gains momentum
Their growing popularity led to them being signed onto Polydor Records. After their signing at the end of 2015, they re-released their EP Make Out.
By the spring of 2016, the band was heading out on tour in the UK as a supporting act for Ellie Goulding. This was followed by a tour with Troye Sivan as supporting act.
At this time, they also announced that they would be heading out on their first headlining tour, ‘The Make Out Tour’ in March. To increase fans excitement, they released a new single “WHERE THE HELL ARE MY FRIENDS”, which was accompanied by a music video, the first that the band released.
The summer of 2016 was a time when LANY played a number of festivals including Outside Lands, Bonnaroo, and Firefly.
To bring 2016 to a close, the band announced their second headline tour called the ‘Kinda Tour’, This included dates in both the U.S. and Europe.
LANY – New Album and Tour in 2017
