Jack White is famous for performing live with notable instruments such as his 1965 JB Hutto Montgomery Airline with many watching him live through Jack White tickets . He was born to a secretary and a building maintenance superintendent and went on to become an altar boy at the Archdiocese of Detroit. He performed a role in The Rosary Murders, a movie released in 1987 and at a young age, became fond of classical music. He started playing drums and became fond of rock and blues music from the sixties. He went on to study at the Cass Technical High School. In 1997, he founded The White Stripes with Meg White, starting out as an underground garage rock outfit and playing with the likes of The Dirtbombs. It went on to release the album De Stijl which ranked high on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and was followed by White Blood Cells which gained massive popularity in the UK. It was followed by 2003’s Elephant and then Get Behind Me Satan in 2005. In 2007, the album Icky Thump was released which debuted first on the UK Albums Chart and second on Billboard 200.

In 2007, Jack White and The White Stripes played the Shortest Ever Concert at St John’s, Nefoundlan, playing one note only. He also founded another band with Brendan Benson, Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence known as The Raconteurs, released its first album in 2005 titled as Broken Boy Soldiers. It also went on to open for Bob Dylan and released another album in 2008 which earned them a Grammy Award nomination. In 2009, he also founded The Dead Weather with former lead vocalist of The Kills, Alison Mosshart. The band’s first album was released in 2009 and was titled as Horehound. In 2010, another album was released by The Dead Weather through the record label Third Man Records which gained popularity in the UK and the US.

Jack White ’s solo career has seen him released a number of albums and collaborate with artists such as Alicia Keys. Ranked today as on of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, he has also won a number of awards and is set to grace festivals such as the Fuji Rock Festival, Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend, Austin City Limits Music Festival and Sasquatch!
