Daughtry Tickets for Sale

Date & Time

Life is not always about coming first, or even second or third place for that matter, sometimes coming in fourth can have a lot of concealed rewards for oneself. Chris Daughtry has experienced this first hand, having been eliminated from the fifth season of American Idol after he made it to the final four, yet going on to form his own band and garnering untold accolades in the process. So significant has been the success of the band Daughtry that it has brought into the question the essential element of the American Idol franchise, that of the ultimate winner getting the final prize. However, Daughtry 's debut album not only outsold American Idol season 5's winner Taylor Hicks' initial studio offering, but also went onto become the fastest-selling album in the rock genre in the history of the Soundscan era, going platinum in the fifth week of its release. Flag down some Daughtry tickets for an essential rock fix.

Born in Roanke Rapids, North Carolina to a chilly finish to the 1970s, Chris Daughtry spent most of his growing years in Lasker. Though having developed a penchant for rock music in his childhood, Chris started crooning with active interest after he turned 16. Taking his guitar instruction from blues rock playing Matt Jagger down in Charlottesville and essential advice courtesy Andy Waldeck, Chris performed with various rock acts during his school years. In late teens he opened for Matt Jagger as well as for My Dog Lucy, the band of Brian Craddock, who would go to become Daughtry 's future member. Performing in a band by the name of Cadence whilst in high school, Chris was a member of Absent Element before auditioning for the fifth season of American Idol in 2006. Chris has also auditioned for the CBS one-off singing competition Rock Star: INXS the previous year, though did not make the initial cut. Chris's stint in American Idol however was much more fruitful and caught the attention of prominent rock acts Live and Fuel, with the latter even offering him the spot of lead vocalist.

Soon after his exit from American Idol season 5 and following the release of his cover of the Bon Jovi number "Wanted Dead or Alive " , Chris Daughtry signed on to 19 Entertainment and the label RCA Records in July, 2006. The ensuing auditions for fellow band members resulted in the recruitment of guitarists Jeremy Brady and Josh Steely, bassist Josh Paul and drummer Joey Barnes, though Barnes and Brady departed later and were replaced by Brian Craddock and Robin Diaz. Releasing their self titled debut album just after a few months of their formation, Daughtry immediately witnessed snowball success and entered the record books. Daughtry went on to become certified four times platinum and topped Billboard 200. Its requisite singles "It's Not Over" and "Home" propelled the band's fame further by charting in the top-ten on Billboard's Hot 100 on the 4th and 5th spots respectively, each getting stamped with a platinum certification. Both tracks received frequent airplay throughout 2007, making them two of the top ten most played songs across the US. Daughtry's sophomore record Leave This Town, released in the summer of 2009, also arose to peak at the top of Billboard 200, eventually going platinum and spawning the hits "No Surprise," "September" and  "Life After You" that  peaked at the 1st, 2nd and 4th spots respectively.

Daughtry clinched a trifecta of American Music Awards in 2007, namely ‘Breakthrough Artist’, ‘Best Adult Contemporary Artist’ and ‘Best Pop/Rock Album’ as well as winning another pair the following year, including ‘Favorite Band’. Daughtry also received three Grammy nods in 2008, but has yet to capitalize any as awards.

Daughtry 's latest album Break the Spell released last November charted in the top-ten on Billboard 200, having a hit in "Crawling Back to You". As performers, Daughtry have played live in events such as Good Morning America, the 2007 NASCAR pre-show as well as the Final Four round of the 2007 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Their numbers have been used as theme songs for events ranging from the 2007 NBA playoffs to the sixth season of American Idol. Daughtry has collaborated with a wide range acts ranging from Theory of a Deadman to Timbaland and toured with the likes of Nickelback and Puddle of Mud, themselves having been on an indefinite tour regimen since 2007. So bag some Daughtry tickets now to "Break the Spell" of pop laced pills.
