The Story of Three Music Powerhouses

Mario Domm joined forces with colleagues and friends Pablo Hurtado and Samuel “Samo” Parra to form Camila in 2005. Signing with Sony Music they released their first album “Todo Cambió” in 2006 which was a fusion of Pop Latino and Rock en Español. Featuring seven tracks, it topped the Billboard Latin charts and earned them a Latin Grammy Award nomination.

In 2010 “Dejarte de Amar” (Stop Loving You) was released and it also topped the Billboard Latin charts. Packed with heart-wrenching songs, the album received incredible reviews along with a Latin Grammy for the Best Pop Album by a Duo or Group.

Proving that the awards weren’t just a onetime thing or a fluke, Camila continued making more incredible music. The song “Mientes” became a huge hit and took home the best song Latin Grammy.

In 2014 “Elypse” followed, bringing in more honors and accolades for the band. It not just won Latin Grammy Awards but was also nominated at the 2015 Grammy Awards. The chemistry, talent and sound music sensibilities helped the trio reach newer heights and made them one of the best rock acts – not just at home but also in the US. They moved to LA and since then have been making music together.

Samo left the band in 2013 to pursue solo career and now Mario Domm and Pablo Hurtado perform as a duo.

• A composer, producer and singer, Mario was born in Coahuila. A multi-instrumentalist, he has collaborated with several other artists. He has written, produced and composed songs for Alejandra Guzmán, Kalimba, Alejandro Sanz, Paulina Rubio, Reyli, Sin Bandera, Alejandro Fernández and Romeo Santos.
• Both musicians are inspired by the legends Prince, Michael Jackson, The Beatles and John Mayer. Admiring them for their high quality music, the duo tries to impersonate the icons’ perfection in their compositions. From penning songs to delivering creative to the final production, it’s all inspired by these music greats.
• From their own song-list, “La vida entera” is Mario’s favorite number. He feels it’s the most honest and musically sound song he has ever written and recorded.
• For Pablo “Tú” is a personal favorite as he calls it the band’s most ambitious track. Featuring aggressive rock elements, the ingenious fusion of orchestral arrangements and electronic made it a huge hit.
• Mario and Pablo are known for their emotional, heartfelt lyrics. The songs “Mientes” “Besame” and “Entre Tus Alas” have been credited to touch the soul with their sigh-heavy melodies.
