About Cirque du Soleil Viva Elvis

 
Cirque du Soleil stands for Circus of the Sun and it is truly a circus like company that is as magnificent as the sun and as popular. Viva Elvis is a show that is themed upon the iconic and legendary Elvis Presley and has been produced with the Elvis Presley Enterprises to result in a maginificent Elvis themed show. This is pretty much the best ever Elvis Presley show to have hit the US and remembers this icon in a manner that is very different from all those tribute bands. Viva Elvis is also a show that goes on tour across many parts of the US, Europe and Asia. Alongside the show, a special presentation known as Elvis Experiences takes place. This presentation remembers Elvis Presley through multimedia.
 
From 2010 onwards, Cirque du Soleil are working on a special Elvis Presley Project that will see a new show open up each and every year until 2015. Viva Elvis is therefore the first of a series of fabulous shows that Cirque du Soleil will bring to the world, in remembrance of one of the greatest artists to have ever lived, Elvis Presley.s It can be seen at the many venues that are part of the tour or at the Aria Casino & Resort in Las Vegas where it is a resident show as part of the Las Vegas Strip of Cirque du Soleil.
 
The layout for Viva Elvis is much like an opera house. The stage itself has around sixteen different platforms, and is made up of twelve parts each of which has a height of ten feet. The largest part of the stage is eighteen by eighty feet long. At the start of Viva Elvis, there is a huge, gigantic jukebox that is made out of chrome and gloss black and is an eye popping seventy feet wide and twenty two feet high, the biggest jukebox ever seen. The video screen itself is fifty feet tall and the opening of this show has a twenty nine feet long suede show that is seven thousand pounds in weight and made out of fiberglass and steel. To put it all together, the structure for this over the top show, Viva Elvis, is around thirty tons in weight!
 
There are a number of different acts that make up this show, alongside some of Elvis Presley’s greatest tracks. Each of these acts is themed upon one of Elvis Presley’s legendary songs. These acts are Blue Suede Shoes, the opening act that is made up of dance and acrobatics, Don't Be Cruel, a dance act, One Night with You, an act that combines an aerial cadre performance on top of a huge guitar, All Shook Up, a dance act, Saved, an act that combines acrobatics and dance sequences, Got a Lot of Livin' to Do, a Trampoline act, Heartbreak Hotel, a dance act, Love Me Tender, an act made up of a singing duet, Return to Sender, an act made up of aerial high bar performances and dance sequences and Are You Lonesome Tonight, an Aerial pas de deux. These are but half of the many acts found in Viva Elvis.
