Fish in the Dark is an upcoming Broadway comedy play written by the famous American comedian and writer, Larry David. This play marks Larry David’s debut as an actor and playwright on Broadway. Larry said in an interview that his character will closely resemble his real life personality. This is the first time Larry David will come back to Broadway since he was in the eighth grade. Larry David achieved fame as the co-creator of one of the most successful comedy shows in American television history, Seinfeld. He later created his own show for HBO, named Curb Your Enthusiasm. He also directed the HBO television movie, “Clear History”.


David has been nominated for three Emmy Awards, out of which he has won one and shared one his Seinfeld co-creator, Jerry Seinfeld. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award as well as an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in Curb Your Enthusiasm. David ranked number twenty-three on the list of greatest comedy stars ever, as voted by his fellow actors in The Comedian’s Comedian poll. Larry David also won the Laurel Award for TV Writing in 2010.


The cast of the play consists of some very famous names like Larry David, Rita Wilson, Rosie Perez (known for her role in “The Ritz” and “Reckless”), Lewis J. Stadlen (famous for his role in “The Nance” and “The People in the Picture”), Jayne Houdyshell, and Jennifer Lyon. The play will start previews from the 2nd of February while the opening night is on the 5th of March 2015. The duration of the play is roughly two hours and fifteen minutes with only one intermission.
