The mega-event with its 2013 debut, the WWE Battleground is once again all set to be held this year. It has quickly become one of the most popular special pay–per–view events held by WWE, joining the likes of WrestleMania. The WWE Battleground has replaced Over the Limit, another WWE event. This pro-wrestling tournament was held last year in Buffalo, New York, at the First Niagara Center. The highlight of the debut event was the fight between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan for the then up for grabs, WWE Championship. This time around, WWE Battleground will be held at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, in Tampa, Florida. This year’s fights can be seen live after ordering WWE Battleground tickets.

The first WWE Battleground event was titled Unlimited Energy and was seen live by eleven thousand seven hundred people. It took place after the Night of Champions and before the Hell in a Cell event. WWE Battleground’s debut event featured eight pro -wrestling matches, as well as a pre–show match in which storylines from WWE Raw and SmackDown were followed. After Daniel Bryan was stripped of the WWE Championship due to a fast referee count, a duel between Bryan and Randy Orton was held for the WWE Championship title. The two fought to no contest result.
The pre-show event saw Dolph Ziggler defeat Damien Shadow in a singles match. Alberto Del Rio then defeated Rob Van Dam for the World Heavyweight Championship. A tag team match was also held, in which The Real Americans, made up of Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger, defeated Santino Marella and The Great Khali. The former were helped by Zeb Colter while the latter by Hornswoggle. A third match saw Curtis Axel defeat R–Truth for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. AJ Lee defeated Brie Bella for the WWE Divas Championship. A second tag team match was held between Cody Rhodes and Goldust with Dusty Rhodes against The Shield with Dean Ambrose. The former won and were thus reinstated by WWE. The sixth match of the event saw Bray Wyatt defeat Kofi Kingston, followed by a match that saw CM Punk defeat Ryback. The eighth match pitted Bryan against Orton, with none of them winning.
Two amazing matches for the 2014 event, have already been announced. John Cena, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, will take part in a Fata 4–Way Match, defending his title. He will face the raging Randy Orton, the monstrous Kane, Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, is what is said to be one of the highlights of the WWE Battleground 2015. A second match will be a special Battleground Battle Royal.
In the Battle Royal, a number of WWE Superstars will wrestle Royal Rumble style for the vacated WWE Intercontinental Championship, with the last man standing winning the Intercontinental title. Together, these two matches promise a Battleground tournament the likes of which WWE fans have never seen before. Indeed, many have already gone so far as to pre-order WWE Battleground tickets for the upcoming matches.
