The Major League Soccer’s preseason is underway, preparing the audiences for the regular season coming up, and San Jose Earthquakes tickets are available for the team’s games against their MLS opponents. The team that played in the first Major League Soccer game ever – flashback to them winning against D.C. United with 1-0 – is back and will be playing against FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake, the Los Angeles Galaxy, the Portland Timbers and the Vancouver Whitecaps. All five of these games will be played at Buck Shaw Stadium which is where the Quakes play all their home games, giving the team a slight edge over their opponents.

FC Dallas has built up a pretty strong case in their games, with an initial unbeaten streak – nine games in a row! – Tesho Akindele can now officially say he has had his first professional hat trick. It was further compounded when they beat the San Jose Earthquakes, 5-0. All fans can hope for now is that the Quakes can take on the challenges that Real Salt Lake, the Portland Timbers and more have in store. Their performance so far has been variable. In June they played against Toronto FC and Los Angeles Galaxy on June 7 and June 28, respectively, and lost both games. But they won against the Sacramento Republic FC with 2-1, and then tied at 1-1 with the New York Red Bulls on July 19. They won with a great score of 5-1 against Chicago, on July 23. The San Jose fans are bound to be having intense discussions about strategies and the prospects of the team coming out on top, which is why coming out to see these games, will be even more fun. It is a great chance to see first-hand how the Quakes try to win against all these tough opponents.
The San Jose Earthquakes will be playing against FC Dallas on August 16, followed by a game with Real Salt Lake on August 30 and the Los Angeles Galaxy on September 14. The Quakes’ next opponents are the 2013 champions of Major League Soccer’s West Conference, the Portland Timbers, against whom the San Jose Earthquakes will play on October 4. The soccer game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, played at the Buck Shaw Stadium, will be on October 18. The San Jose Earthquakes won the Major League Soccer cup in 2001 and 2003, dominating all the other MLS teams. They were also the winners of the League’s regular season, in the Western conference, in 2003, 2005 and – most recently - 2012. They also won the playoffs in the Western Conference in 2003.
Brandon Barklage, Victor Bernardez and Chris Wondolowski are some of the leading Quakes. Wondolowski played in twenty-three games for the San Jose Earthquakes and along with starting each game, his season’s goal total came up to eleven, as well as three assists. In 2012, he played in thirty-two games and scored twenty-seven goals. And of course Victor Bernardez is a world-class player and was on the Honduras national team during the FIFA World Cup 2014. He has scored three goals in international competitions – friendly soccer games against El Salvador and Belize – and also scored against Cuba in this year’s FIFA World Cup qualifier.
It can only be judged by upcoming games how the San Jose Earthquake 2015 tickets will fare this season. The preseason tournaments are training are well underway and although it’s all in fun and in preparation for the regular season, fans are waiting with bated breath to see how these initial games turn out.
