The Wildcats have a fierce rivalry with the Georgetown Hoyas. They also have rivalries with teams from the St John's University, University of Connecticut, Providence University and Syracuse University. With four other schools, they formed the Philadelphia Big 5 and regularly compete in a round robin City Series. Their rivalry with Saint Joseph's University is so fierce it has been dubbed as the Holy War. Similarly, the women's basketball program is also one of the finest in the nation.
