About Mac Miller Tfhouse

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based American rapper Mac Miller was born with the real name of Malcolm McCormick. Coming from a Jewish family, they were settled at an area called Point Breeze in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was blessed with a great musical sense right from early childhood but never actually went to learn music formally at any institute. It is therefore that the critics often call him a self taught musician. Mac Miller graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and while as a freshman there, he discovered his own potential to create good music. He was interested in hip hop genre of modern music and often used to play at his local parties. According to his own account, he was not very serious about his musical abilities while as a student but when he turned fifteen, his interest in arts and music became deeper and for the first time he thought about pursuing a career in music seriously. According to him, at that time he was just like any other ordinary school boy, but after realizing the fact that his talent could make him famous and he could actually take it up as a career, he started taking music seriously and worked even harder to polish his skills.
After taking up music as a full time career, Mac Miller joined a rap group named The Ill Spoken. Along with him was another rapper in the group also from Pittsburgh, named Beedie. Mac Miller formally signed a record label deal with Rostrum Records in 2010 as he turned eighteen years of age. His first recording after signing the deal was a mixtape titled K. I. D. S. that was released the same year.
In an early stage of his career, Miller believes he has been inspired by great artists like Lauryn Hill, Big L, Outkast, The Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest for his singing. He often mentions these influences in his interviews and believes that he has learnt a lot from these singers. Another great influence on Mac Miller both in terms of music as well as in terms of personality has been his fellow rapper from the same town i.e. Pittsburgh, named Wiz Khalifa. Wiz has been a close friend of Mac Miller and he often says that his relationship with Wiz has limits beyond just as a professional colleague. He considers Wiz Khalifa as his elder brother and says that he has learnt a lot from him. According to Mac, his relationship with Wiz is like what a person has with his family and would he not been doing music, he would have still been friends with Wiz Khalifa.
