Drake is a Canadian rapper hailing from Toronto, who rose to fame in 2001. He is a rapper, singer and songwriter. He is also an actor, who has appeared in a number of movies and shows. His music has been released by Republic Records, OVO Sound, Cash Money and Young Money.

He has released a total of twelve number one singles so far, which is far more than any artist on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart. He has released the most number one singles on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip–Hop Songs chart, after passing Jay–Z in 2012. That is hardly it; he is also one of only two artists in the music industry to occupy the top three positions of the chart, simultaneously.
Drake has also worked as a record producer and written songs for artist like Alicia Keys, Rita Ora, Trey Songz and Jamie Foxx. He also voiced a character in Ice Age: Continental Drift and holds the joint record for the most nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards, tying with Rihanna in 2012.
