About Ray Manzarek Robby Krieger

Ray Manzarek is a musician from Chicago, Illinois. He was born as Raymond Daniel Manczarek in 1939. While he was just a kid he learned playing piano from seasoned teachers like Bruno Michelotti. He was not into hardcore music playing as he wanted to be basketball player. His only wish was to play as a center ot forward but while he was in high school his coach plainly refused to give him a chance to play on these positions. Instead the coach wanted him to play as a guard and this was mainly a turning point for Manzarek as he decided to pursue a career in music. After finishing his degree in cinematography he from UCLA he went on to collaborate with his university fellow Jim Morrison and founded the world famous psychedelic rock group The Doors in 1965. Since then Manzarek has been active in the music industry and after disbanding of The Doors in 1973 he has continued his journey of music.
Ray Manzarek is fluent at playing the keyboard and piano. He has worked on various side projects such as Nite City, Rock & The Ravens, The Manzarek Rogers Band and Manzarek-Krieger. With Doors he released and he has also released solo albums like The Golden Scarab, The Whole Thing Started with Rick & Roll and Now it’s Out of Control, Carmina Burana and Ballads Before The Rain.
Robby Krieger hails from Los Angeles California. His date of birth is January 8th 1946. His complete name is Robert Alan Krieger. He grew up mainly as a self taught musician and initially tried playing instruments like piano and the trumpet. While in his teens he eventually started giving more time to guitar playing. He mainly started playing flamenco music and for this he burrowed a flamenco guitar from a friend. Later he went on to take guitar lessons from a teacher. Krieger mainly focuses on genres like hard rock, jazz rock, acid and psychedelic rock. He can play not only the guitar but also harmonica and keyboards. He was later contacted by singer Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek to join The Doors band.
After the death of Morrison, Doors went on to perform for sometime as a trio with Manzarek, Krieger and drummer John Densmore. After The Doors Krieger had a fairly good music career as he played on side projects like The Butts Band, Experience Hendrix and The Psychedelic Rangers. His solo albums include Robby Krieger and Friends, No Habla, Door Jams, Cinematix and Singularity. On the Rolling Stone magazine list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Times Krieger has been placed at #91.
