New Found Glory – The By-Default Godfathers of Punk Rock
Florida natives, New Found Glory have been in the music scene for the past 20 years and established themselves as the ultimate pop punk icons. They are also credited for influencing several newcomers who want to make a name for themselves in the genre. Developing a rounded style, they made their debut in 1999 with the record “Nothing Gold Can Stay” and followed with two more albums in 2000 and 2002 that featured simple yet infectious beats. Their basic style is best described as melodic and chunky, infusing solid riffs and hardcore punk. Their ingenious sound is complimented by high-pitched vocals and irrepressible melodies that are loaded with crunch and punk.
Slowly working their way up, New Found Glory started playing from a friend’s garage and are today performing in front of jam-packed crowd of thousands. For almost 16 years, the band performed as a quintet, until the founding member Steve Klein called it quits due to creative differences and also because of some charges against him. His departure followed an album release in 2014 titled “Resurrection”.
Rallying Fans With Their Euphoric Anthems
Among the most consistent pop punk bands, New Found Glory have been smashing ear drums, inspiring mosh pits and rallying crowd with their gritty anthems. Their music transcends different trends and their songs are enjoyed by listeners of all ages. According to the guitarist Chad Gilbert, “Our music is constantly evolving and changing and when we put out an album we always try to offer something different”. Their seventh album “Radiosurgery” that came out in 2011 was a perfect example of change. Although it was reminiscent of their previous melodic upbeat themes, the effort was more focused and well thought of. Produced by Neal Avron, the infectious rock anthems like “Summer Fling, Don’t Mean A Thing” and “Ready, Aim, Fire!” appealed to both the hardcore fans as well as the recent converts. Meant to be listened all the way through, there are no fillers on this album and contain timeless pop punk songs.
A Powerhouse Return with Resurrection
After three years, New Found Glory released their 8th record titled, “Resurrection”. A passionate effort, it has the members belting out traditional pop punk melodies and highlights their new found confidence after losing a key member. Pouring immense energy into the songs, the album is a sonic party fueled by incredible numbers like “Selfless”, “Stories of a Different Kind” and “One More Round”.
The quartet is ready to perform their new and old tracks live and will soon be rocking the arena in your city. Their concerts are must-attend events and they treat the raving crowd to their timeless hits, rocking hooks and incredible guitar riffs. So, are you ready?
