The band’s name McFly has been taken from Martin McFly, the lead character from the famous film series Back to the Future. The front man for the band, Martin Fletcher, was originally interested to join another band named Busted, and was also taken up for that band, before their recording label decided to limit it to three members thereby dropping Fletcher who later created his own band and named it McFly for his keen love for Back to the Future’s character. McFly owes a great deal of their initial fame to Busted, who invited them to their tour in March 2004, thus providing them with an opportunity to present their music before a huge audience.

Many songs from the album reached top positions in UK as well as on other international charts, thereby establishing McFly’s credibility as a hit band. The album itself reached number 6 on UK album charts. The next year McFly decided to compile and release their popular songs together in the form of an album named All the Greatest Hits. The album was released on November 5, 2007 and reached number 4 on the UK charts. It also contained two new singles that also claimed great popularity.
