The Start of an Epic Career
In the year 2000, Kelly Clarkson was nothing more than a young struggling girl aspiring to become a successful singer one day. Her inborn flair for singing earned her slots at the school choir and local talent competitions where people got hugely impressed by her vocal abilities and encouraged her to sing. Hungry for fame and impatient to become successful, Clarkson dropped the idea of going to university and moved to Los Angeles where she did a couple of odd jobs to finance her demo. Luck was not by her side and after making minor TV appearances, Clarkson was forced to return to Texas.
The American Idol
The talented Clarkson is often known for her sensational win at the famous reality singing show American Idol. The show’s first season aired in 2002 in the US and Clarkson’s best friend Jessica advised her to give it a shot. After Clarkson auditioned she got selected among the 10,000 contestants on the show. The show involved a series of eliminations through public voting and strict evaluations by the judges. The judges on the season included the famous Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell and were accompanied by hosts Brian Dunkleman and Ryan Seacrest. The singer appeared on the second episode of the show, blowing away the audience with her resonating vocals and inspirational performance. After a series of eliminations and stringent assessments by the judges, Clarkson emerged as the winner of the sizzling contest, beating runner-up Justin Guarini by a 58% public vote. Her prize included a contract with RCA Records, on which Clarkson immediately released two singles including the smashing hit “A Moment Like This”. The show inspired a commercial music film “From Justin to Kelly” in 2003, in which the two contestants actually played their own roles.
“A Moment Like This” became an ultimate sensation right away, breaking the record of The Beatles for the biggest song leap on Billboard. The single jumped from number fifty-two to the top slot on the Billboard Hot 100 in just one week. In 2009 the artist gave another earth-shattering single “My Life Would Suck Without You” that hit number one on the same chart. Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed a career ascend ever since winning three Grammy Awards, innumerable Top Ten tracks and multi-platinum albums. The singer has also bagged three MTV Video Music Awards, four American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards and a CMA Award. Some of her most famous singles include “Stronger” and “Mr. Know It All”, the former of which ruled the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks.
Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece” Tour
The gifted pop rock songstress will soon hit cities like Vienna, New York, Tampa and Maryland Heights to sing to the crowd songs from her latest album. The artist will be accompanied by bidding pop stars including the ensemble Pentatonix and pop and rock crooner Eric Hutchinson throughout her tour. The former debuted in 2011 selling more than 20 million albums and receiving its first Grammy in 2015 for their ballad “Draft Punk”. Hutchinson made a 2007 debut with the chart smashing album “Sounds Like This”, that gave three back to back radio hits.
