Beginnings of a promising career
Jess began singing at an early age, participating in local contests in her home town Saskatchewan in an attempt to express her talents. In 2005, the budding teenage artist gained the title of “Most Promising Entertainer” at a local talent competition and returned the following year to win second prize at the same competition.
Her first single “Amen Hallelujah” proved to a big success on the Canadian airwaves and received over half a million views on YouTube. Jess slowly established a prominent online presence and following across various social media platforms.
Moskaluke signed to the famous Canadian independent label MDM Recordings in 2012. The debut eight-track EP Catch Me If You Can followed in September the same year. The album was a mix of pop infused country singles, and featured three tracks that were produced by award-winning musician, Mitch Merrett.
Her debut studio effort Light Up the Night followed in April 2014. The album features ten tracks that highlight the rich vocals of the country songstress and incorporate a country pop sound with a rock twist. The debut single of the album, “Good Lovin’,” featured on the Canadian country radio charts and was showcased on the Universal Music Canada compilation of Country Hits 2014. The album’s second single, “Cheap Wine and Cigarettes,” turned out to be an even bigger hit, earning a spot on the Billboard “Canadian Hot 100” chart.
