Eric Clapton ZZ Ward
Eric Clapton, the singer, song-writer and musician is one of the most sought after rock artists of the day. He is recipient of seventeen Grammy Awards and has the honor of being a three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a solo artist and as member of groups Cream and Yardbirds. In the ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Times’ list by the Rolling Stone magazine, Eric secured the second spot. He also received the Order of the British Empire in 2004 at Buckingham Palace for his contributions to the music industry. Clapton received an acoustic Hoyer guitar on his thirteenth birthday but quickly lost interest in the steel-stringed instrument. Two years later, Clapton picked it up again and started playing music. Influenced by blues genre from a very young age, Clapton stated playing chords of blues. He used to record them and listened to them over and over, until he felt that he had them right.
Eric Clapton embarked on professional music career in 1962, when he started playing with a fellow blues lover, David Brock, as a duo. At the age of seventeen he joined the group “The Roosters.” In 1963, Clapton joined The Yardbirds and stayed with them through 1965. Clapton developed his own distinguished style by synthesizing influences from leading blues guitarists such as Freddie King, B. B. King and Buddy Guy. Clapton quickly rose on the music scene and developed a cult following. In 1966, he left the Yardbirds to join the newly formed band, Cream. Before this association, the English artist was not much known in United States. Clapton first visited U.S. while touring with Cream and swept the audiences of their feet. Since then, the star is on the rise of popularity. His latest album, “Old Sock” was released last year and it managed to top the charts. Now this star is coming to your city for a live concert, so don’t forget to be there.
The second highlight of the upcoming show is an equally enigmatic artist, ZZ Ward. Born Zsuzsanna Eva Ward, ZZ Ward appeared on the music arenas in 2006. Ward dominated the rock music arena and continues to climb her way to stardom. Ward joined the field of music when she was only twelve years old. Her first band was her father’s, and the first song that she sang was “As the Years Go Passing By”. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ZZ Ward grew up listening to her father’s blues records and her brother’s hip-hop collection. This combination influenced her choices at a very young age and later, shaped her idiosyncratic tunes. Her music is a unique mix of rock, hip-hop, blues, R&B and neo-soul.
In 2012, ZZ Ward released her debut EP titled “Criminal”, followed by her full length album “Till the Casket Drops”. The album debuted on the top of Radio charts as well as broke into the Top 40 list on the Billboard Alternative chart. In her upcoming concert, the star is expected to feature songs from her album as well as covers of recent tracks by other artists. These two rock stars are scheduled to perform live in your city.
