Crosby Stills Nash
Multi-talented American, David Van Cortlandt Crosby was born in 1941 and is a successful songwriter, singer and guitarist. Along with a career as a solo artist, he is the founding member of the bands ‘Crosby, Pevar & Raymond’, ‘The Byrds’ and ‘Crosby, Stills & Nash’. The American multi-instrumentalist, Stephen Arthur Stills was born in 1945 and is a singer as well as a songwriter. For his skill set, Stills’ ranked amongst "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" in the Rolling Stone Magazine's 2003 and 2011 list. Last but not the least, English songwriter, Graham William Nash was born in 1942 and is an established singer and songwriter. Holding four honorary doctorates, Nash is also a published photographer and a photography collector.
The triumvirate rose to stardom with the release of their eponymous debut LP in 1969 via Atlantic Records. The album presented the fans with immortalizing set of sparkling high harmonies. It included hit numbers which included “Wooden Ships" depicting antiwar emotions, "Marrakesh Express" with the Eastern-influenced musings and "Pre-Road Downs" which is a cheerful folk pop number. The album opened with the esteemed "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" by Stills’ depicting epic love. With strong condemnation of Robert Kennedy, Crosby presented the song “Long Time Gone". The timeless compositions continued to boom with the subsequent albums ‘Déjà Vu’ (CSNY) released in 1970, ‘CSN’ (CSN) in 1977, ‘Daylight Again’ (CSN) in 1982, ‘American Dream’ (CSNY) in 1988, ‘Live It Up’ (CSN) in 1990, ‘After the Storm’ (CSN) in 1994 and ‘Looking Forward’ (CSNY) in 1999.
Over the years Crosby, Stills & Nash have released eight studio albums, four live albums, six compilation albums, nineteen singles, four video albums, two music videos and have come up with three soundtracks. The studio albums ‘Déjà Vu’, ‘CSN’, ‘Crosby and Stills & Nash’ have all been certified multiple platinum. Their live albums include 4 Way Street released in 1971, Allies in 1983, Déjà Vu Live in 2008 and CSN 2012 in 2012. Quite a number of their songs made it to the top charts in the US including "Marrakesh Express", "Ohio", "Our House", "Just a Song Before I Go", "Fair Game", "Wasted on the Way", "American Dream", "That Girl", "Live It Up", "No Tears Left" and more.
