About Brantley Gilbert


Brantley Gilbert’s career took off when he participated in CMA Music Festival, which is Nashville’s annual event, in June 2010. He had started working on his first album in early 2000 and it was initially arranged to be released in 2006. However, the label with which he was working dropped him before the album could be released. Three years later he signed with another label, Average Joe’s Entertainment, and finally launched his album. It was named Modern Day Prodigal Son. Some of the songs from the album like G.R.I.T.S, Dirt Road Anthem, My Kinda Party and Whenever We’re Alone were really liked by the public. The song Dirt Road Anthem was recorded by Colt Ford, former professional golfer and now a successful country music singer. My Kinda Party was a song that Gilbert recorded with Jason Aldean, country music singer whose albums have been certified platinum. This song was for Jason’s album having the same name as the song.

Following this, he released his second album in 2010 and named it after the first song that he had written. Halfway to Heaven was an instant hit. It clinched the top spot on Billboard’s Heatseeker chart list of 2010. This album was also released with Average Joe’s label. This year in February Brantley Gilbert left Average Joe’s label. He went on to join Valory Music Company which is a division of the Big Machine Records. He has released a single with them which is being applauded by the people. The single is named Country Must Be Countrywide.

Brantley Gilbert is slowly and steadily growing on his audience. His songwriting is one of his strengths and is a result of his soul searching. His lyrics deal with topics such as the power of love and the beauty of redemption. He also includes a lot of alpha male stuff in his songs and uses a lot of cuss words. He has been subjected to a lot of criticism regarding his songwriting but then again that is his major appeal. He talks of real experiences, the words that he himself has lived. The truth of his words is reflected in his songs. It has made a lot of people relate to his songs. His main aim, according to him, is not to gain fame and money but to help others with what he has learned of life so far.
