Joining lead guitarist Tom Scholz on stage will be Gart Pihl and David Victor (guitar and vocals). Accompanying them will be Tracy Ferrie (bass and vocals), Kimberley Dahme (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Tommy DeCarlo (lead vocals, keyboards and percussion). The drumming duties will be divided between veteran drummers Curly Smith and Jeff Neal.
Over the years, the band has released six studio albums, thirteen singles and one compilation album. Epic Records released the band’s eponymous debut album in 1976. The album spawned hit singles such as Foreplay/Long Time, More Than a Feeling and Peace of Mind. The popularity of these songs led the album to number three on the Billboard200 chart. It maintained its position for one hundred and thirty-two weeks. Widely regarded as the best-selling pop debut album in history, “Boston” was certified seventeen times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The single More Than a Feeling charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked at number five.
Their second album “Don't Look Back,” came out in 1978 and reached the top of charts in Canada and the United States. It achieved platinum status seven times in the United States and four times in Canada. The title track peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. Their third album, titled “Third Stage”, was released in 1986. Following the footsteps of the preceding albums, “Third Stage” topped music charts in the United States as well as Canada. The album spawned the single Amanda, which topped the charts in both the countries as well.
Their fourth studio album, titled “Walk On”, was released in 1994. The album ranked at number ten in Canada and number seven in the United States. The album earned platinum statuses in both countries. Their fifth album “Corporate America” was released in 2002. Their most recent album, “Life, Love & Hope”, was released in 2013.
Accompanying BOSTON on stage will be “Cheap Trick,” an American rock band. Established in 1973, the quartet comprises Rick Nielsen the lead guitarist, Bun E. Carlos on drums, Robin Zander on vocals and rhythm guitar along with Tom Petersson on bass guitar. The Japanese press frequently refers to the band as the “American Beatles.”
Cheap Trick was categorized amongst the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock at number twenty-five on VH1’s list. Over the years, Cheap Trick has released seventeen studio albums, thirteen compilation albums and seven live albums. The studio albums “In Color,”“Heaven Tonight,”“Dream Police,”“Lap of Luxury” were certified as platinum by the RIAA whereas the albums “All Shook Up” and “One on One” achieved the gold status.
