In its second year, the event was moved to June due to weather conditions; which resulted in doubled audiences. A surprise package was included in the third year of the event when a non-country musician Paul McCartney decided to perform for his fans at CMA Music Festival. The festival was also the last place where people witnessed the duet performance of Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner before they parted ways.
As the festival gained more popularity year by year, more celebrated artists wanted to be part of such a phenomenal event.
