Early Life & Musical Beginnings
The Swon Brothers is an Oklahoma-based ensemble, formed in 2013. It comprises brothers Colton and Zach Swon (aged 27 and 30, respectively). Since their early years, their parent’s gospel band ‘Exodus’ majorly influenced their interests in music. The Swon family gained local acclaim when they began performing their show ‘The Westwood Music Show’ in Wagoner, Oklahoma. This was when Zach and Colton started covering country songs by legends such as Frank Sinatra. The duo named themselves ‘The Swon Brothers’ in 2000.
Auditions for American Idol & The Voice
In 2007, the Swon Brothers tried their luck in the 7th season of American Idol. They were able to reach the top 48, but weren’t able to move on any further. Before they auditioned for the 4th season of The Voice, Zach and Colton released several albums independently. Among these are ‘This Close to Gone’, ‘Oklahoma Lovin’’ and ‘Another Day.’ The Swon Brothers have cited ‘The Eagles’ as their primary influence.
