This year marks the 30th anniversary of Restless Heart. In celebration of 30 successful years the band has planned a special tour, “30 Years & Still Restless Tour” across the country. With 27 shows lined up and performances in more than 25 cities the band is all set to sway the country on its beats. Rumour has it that the band is planning to release new music in 2013 as well. However, further details still need to be revealed. In 1984 an American country music band, Restless Heart was established with John Dittrich on drums and background vocals, Paul Gregg on bass guitar along with background vocals, Dave Innis played the piano, keyboards and rhythm guitar along with singing in the background, Greg Jennings was the lead guitarist and played the mandolin while the voice of the band was Verlon Thompson. Shortly before the band signed its recording contract the lead vocalist Thompson was replaced with Larry Stewart in 1984.

The breakthrough album by the band was their second recording, Wheels. This album gave the audiences four consecutive Number One country Hits: the title track, “I'll Still Be Loving You", "Why Does It Have to Be” and “That Rock won’t Roll”. Two of these songs were hits on the Adult Contemporary Charts. The song “New York” was only released on the Contemporary charts and was a smashing hit. The song “I’ll Still Be Loving You” made it to the top 40 on the pop charts as well. The 80’s and 90’s decade had the band swamping the country and Adult Contemporary charts. The greatest hit by Restless Heart was their album; The Best of Restless Heart in 1991. In 1992 two of the members left the band; Stewart and Innis. Towards the end of 1994 the other remaining members had also disbanded. The year 1998 saw the coming together of the band once again for an album. However the reunion was short lived and again the band went inactive till 2003.
After five years of inactivity the band returned with a bang. Dittrich, Gregg, Innis, Jennings, and Stewart all reunited. Right after the reunion the members began working tirelessly on their next release, “Still Restless”. Another country chart single was produced by the band with this album. This album was co-produced by Mac McAnally and Kyle Lehning. The track "Feel My Way to You" from the album hit No. 29 on the country music charts. After 2005 to 2007 Restless Heart did not produce any other singles. In 2007 the band released a live album, 25 and Live, through their website.
The band has accolades of achievements and chart bursting hits. Their seven studio releases, two greatest hits albums and a live album fared well all over. The second, third, fourth and fifth albums have been certified gold by the RIAA. As many as twenty-six singles by Restless Heart have been chartd in the Billboard Country charts out of which six of the songs have enjoyed number one ranking.
