Formed in 1998, Little Big Town is an American group that falls under the genre of country music. Little Big Town tickets are available for you to enjoy this band’s live performance. The band’s singing style largely depends on a technique known as ‘four-part vocal harmonies’ in which the music is composed for all four members. This means that there is no specific lead singer and the singing is done by either one of the four or by all of them in different combinations. Sweet and Westbrook are also rhythm guitarists for the quartet. Fairchild and Schlapman first met in 1987 at Samford University, Alabama. They reunited in Tennessee and started singing together. In 1998, Westbrook, who was Fairchild’s husband’s friend, joined the two women and the trio began rehearsals with Joe Don Rooney and Gary LeVox. Sweet joined in 1999 and the band chose ‘Little Big Town’ as its official name.

Even though the band had signed a record deal with Mercury Nashville Records, it did not release any albums or even singles at that time. In 2001, Collin Raye’s ‘Can’t Back Down’s backing vocals were done by LBT. The next record deal was with Monument Records and the group’s first album ‘Little Big Town’ was released in 2002. The songs ‘Everything Changes’ and ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ from that album peaked at the US Billboard Country charts. After incidents like Westbrook’s father’s death in 2002, both Sweet and Fairchild divorcing their spouses and the dissolving of Monument’s Nashville branch, LBT left the label. This is the time when all four members took up jobs to earn money, even though they didn’t stop touring. A record deal with Equity Music Group was signed in 2005 and the song, ‘Boondocks’, was released, which went on to peak at number nine on 2006 country charts. This song was part of the band’s second album, ‘The Road to Here’. The album’s song ‘Bring It on Home’ reached Top 5 on the list of Hot Country Songs. ‘Good as Gone’ and ‘A Little More You’ soon followed it as Top 20 hits.

Co-written by the band’s members and Producer Wayne Kirkpatrick, The Road to Here became a certified Platinum album in the U.S around the end of 2006. In 2007, the group released its third album ‘A Place to Land’ and the song ‘I’m with the Band’ reached the country top songs chart. In 2008, the group signed a deal with Capitol Nashville and left Equity Music. Capitol rereleased A Place to Land and the band first did an opening for Carrie Underwood to promote its album before starting its 2009 tour. This tour started in January and continued till April. Since the start of its journey, Little Big Town has won an Academy of Country Music Award for ‘Top New Duo/Vocal Group’ in 2007 and a Country Music Association Award for ‘Vocal Group of the Year’ in 2012. For four consecutive times, it has also become a nominee for CMA Awards for ‘Vocal Group of the Year’. Other than that, it has been nominated for numerous awards such as the Country Music Association Awards, CMT Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, American Country Awards, Teen Choice Awards and even Grammy Awards.
 
‘Little White Church’ was the leading song for the group’s fourth album ‘The Reason Why’ and the song reached number six on the charts. LBT opened for Sugarland for this album’s promotion and also went on a tour for it. The group’s latest album, ‘Tornado’, was released in 2012. This album’s song ‘Pontoon’ did wonders for the band and became a Number One hit on the Hot Country Songs chart. It also reached Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and soon after that, won an American Country Award and a Country Music Association Award for ‘Music Video of the Year’. This song’s fame even got it nominated for a Grammy Award for ‘Best Country Duo Performance’.
