Musical Interests and Bluebird Cafe
Born in a small town of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Dustin Lynch spent his childhood listening to legendary country singers like Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Clint Black. The ambitious youngster chose the David Lipscomb University in Nashville to pursue his studies because it allowed him to stay in touch with upcoming music opportunities. The decision was to prove fruitful for Lynch because his college was just two miles away from the Bluebird Café. The Bluebird Café was a breeding ground for young singers and songwriters and Lynch was quick to grab a chance to sing at one of its open-mic nights. His resonant voice made an immediate impact on the audience and host Barbara Lloyd promised to help him set his career in the Nashville fraternity.
Establishing a Successful Career
Dustin Lynch promptly earned recognition in the local music circuit and honed his skills at the Bluebird Café. The artist had also started performing at gigs around the Southeast club and was soon spotted by Justin Moore’s manager Pete Hartung. Hartung had discovered Lynch through his MySpace page and immediately wanted to get involved with the singer. The fateful union opened new opportunities for Lynch and the lucky artist landed into a management agreement with L3 Entertainment followed by a song publishing contract with Super 98/The Song Factory. In the two years that followed, Lynch wrote a whopping 200 plus songs and made an impression on the music industry’s elite.
Debut Album Release
In 2011, the artist snagged a record deal with the Broken Bow Records and released his chartbusting debut certified platinum country ballad “Cowboys and Angels”. The song notched the second position at the World of Country Music charts and stayed there for about two weeks. The song was included in his eponymous debut album and was followed by the Top 20 track “She Cranks My Tractor” and the Top 30 single “Wild in Your Smile”. Dustin Lynch had become a reckoning force in the country genre and had been penning songs from his own experiences and days at Tullahoma.
Where It’s At
When Lynch released his sophomore album titled “Where It’s At”, he had little idea where it would take him. The singer was surprised after the album hit number 23 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and sold 31,000 copies. The gold certified lead single “Where It’s At (Yep Yep)” topped the US Country Airplay chart and Lynch became the only new artist to give a number one hit in 2014. This was followed by the single “Hell of a Night” that debuted at number 45 on US Country charts and was one of Lynch’s favorite songs on the album. “’Hell of a Night’ is edgy and it’s a song that’s so sexy”, says the gifted singer.
