About Jon Kimura Parker

 
Parker was born in Vancouver in Canada. He comes from a family of musicians. His father is Keiko Parker and he is the uncle of Edward Parker. Parker’s brother, James Parker and his cousin Ian Parker are renowned pianists also. When he was just five years old, Parker was a part of the Vancouver Youth Orchestra. He went on to pursue music education at the prestigious Vancouver Academy of Music. Under the guidance of Adele Marcus, he later graduated from The Julliard School. Having won numerous national as well as international accolades, he is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after pianists today. He has also won many known international competitions which also include the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition of 1984 when he was just 24 years old. In 1999 he was inducted as an Officer of the esteemed Order of Canada which is recognized as being Canada’s highest civilian honor.
 
Jon Kimura Parker enjoys a colossal fan following. He has performed all over the world and is known for performing in some of the most thrilling, moving and soulful music concerts.
