He moved temporarily with his family to Germany and learned violin at the Royal Academy of Music. After completing his music training he came back to the US and joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the footsteps of his father. Soon he formed a chamber music orchestra named Boston Sinfonietta. In 1930 he was finally appointed as the conductor of Boston Pop Orchestra. He reprised the works of famous maestros such as Jalousie by Jacob Gade, Jacques Offenbach’s Gaite Parisienne, Marche Slave by Tchaikovsky and In a Persian Market by Ketelbey. He also recorded a pop album in the last years of his life that was titled Saturday Night Fielder.
