X Ambassadors is a four-member band from Ithaca, New York that started out in 2009. Initially they began touring with other artists such as LIGHTS. During their formative years, they released a debut EP called Ambassadors EP. Shortly after, the band released its debut LP by the name Litost. The title song from this album was used in the soundtrack of The Host. The band’s first major label EP came in the form of Love Songs Drug Songs, in 2013. For promotions of this EP, X Ambassadors toured with Imagine Dragons, The Mowgli’s and Jimmy Eat World. The second major EP came in 2014 under the title, The Reason. Soon after, their single “Jungle” with Jamie N Commons gained much success, causing the record label to re-release The Reason EP with that track.

In 2015, the band released its first LP, titled VHS. This album features 20 tracks, including 7 interludes and 3 previously released songs and it also has supporting artists such as Jamie N Commons and Imagine Dragons. Tracks such as “Moving Day” and “First Gig” are some of the most loved songs by the band that pay homage to their love for hip hop. The songs on this album revolve around various themes, including the determination to navigate away from heartbreak and constraints of a small town.
