Casey Bates served as the producer on this album, which was titled as A Flair for the Dramatic. It premiered in 2007 with the band’s name based on a song by Before Today. Even at the beginning, they drew crowds with cheap Pierce the Veil tickets, setting a pace that grew with time.
In support of their album, Pierce the Veil toured all over the US, often performing with renowned bands such as A Day to Remember and The Devil Wears Prada. They also performed at a leg of the Vans Warped Tour that year. Their tour dragged on to 2008 where they performed at the Bamboozle Left. After a few months break, they were back to touring, launching their first headline tour labeled The Delicous Tour with bands such as Four Letter Lie and Breathe Carolina supporting them. In 2009, they went on the Taste of Chaos tour with Cancer Bats, Bring Me the Horiszon, Four Year Strong and Thursday, some of the most prestigious bands in post hardcore and experimental rock music today in the US.
Members of Pierce the Veil continued to take part in side projects with the Fuentes brothers and Ayrton Jara being part of Isles & Glaciers, a supergroup featuring DRUGS vocalist Craig Owens and Dance Gavin Dance vocalist Jonny Craig. In 2009, they began work on their next album and started recording it in Los Angeles. The album was titled as Selfish Machines and was released in 2010 through Equal Vision Records.
This album ranked first on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and was followed by a string of concerts at festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, the Bamboozle Left, SXSW and Never Say Never Festival. They contributed a song to Punk Goes Classic Rock compilation album, performing a cover of Don’t Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Such concerts often led to many fans buying Pierce the Veil tickets and seeing the band perform live.
