Like its name NOFX has many cryptic elements to its music. Refusing to sign a deal with a major label, NOFX has still managed to remain in the limelight since it came together in 1983 by vocalist Fat Mike and the band’s guitarist Eric Melvin. The other members of the band Eric Sandin and El Hefe joined the band later finalizing its present line-up which has gone through a number of changes.
The band rose to success with their album ‘Punk in Drublin’ and since then has sold over six million albums worldwide. The band has done fairly well for itself despite its refusal to work with big names.

NOFX represents an era of growing interest in punk. ‘Punk in Drublic’ which was released in 1994 is NOFX’s most famous album and is a unanimous choice for a classic punk album, managing to please critics as well as the band’s loyal fans. They have released eleven studio albums, numerous singles and fifteen EPs. Over the years, the band has experimented with punk rock, melodic hard-rock, ska punk and skate punk. Their songs usually have a strong social and political feel. They also produced their own TV show called NOFX: Backstage Passport.
