About Eddie Vedder

American guitarist, songwriter and singer Edward Louis Severson III, popularly known as Eddie Vedder was born on December 23, 1964. He stepped into the world of professional music in 1986, but most of his fame came as a part of American alternative rock music band named Pearl Jam. He basically belongs to Evanston, Illinois that is situated near Chicago, but left his home town quite early in his pursuit for excellence in professional musical career. In his childhood, he had developed interest in music as his father was a lounge musician, and his mother also encouraged his singing abilities even after the parents divorced. His mother also gifted him a guitar when he turned twelve, and also told him about his father because he was too young when they divorced. It is said that Vedder was inclined towards basketball and music as his favorite hobbies as a teenager. The artist after getting to know the truth about his parentage, could not actually spend much time with his real father because by that time he had died of multiple sclerosis.

While struggling in his initial practical life, Vedder had to do menial jobs to earn a living. He worked as a waiter while getting his education, and after earning his GED degree, he also tried continuing his further education at a community college near Chicago. Nevertheless, owing to the bad financial status he had at that time, he actually could not pursue his education for long.

Eddie Vedder knew about his singing talent and was always looking for an opportunity to express his potential. He also worked briefly with some local bands at San Diego like The Butts, Surf and Destroy and Indian Style. It was at that time that Vedder met Jack Irons, who was working as a drummer with Red Hot Chili Peppers. Irons provided him a much awaited opportunity by sending his recordings to a Seattle based band that was looking for a singer. The band called him up after listening to his tapes, and he appeared for an audition. He got selected, and the first album that he recorded with the new band was titled Temple of the Dog through A & M Records in 1991. The album provided the band as well as Eddie Vedder some initial recognition across the industry, and a newly formed band named Pearl Jam came across his voice and thought of him as someone they needed. Vedder was recruited in the band, and began working with rest of the members including Dave Krusen, Gossard, Ament and McCready.

After their first released album, music lovers across the nation as well as critics loved their work, and Eddie, along with his band, became famous. Very soon his concerts started getting all sold out, and his singing style as well as guitar work was discussed by critics. Towards the end of 1990s, the artist had already become a super star. His contribution to the soundtrack of 2007 movie Into The Wild was especially appreciated.

Ever since, Eddie Vedder has contributed to all nine of the studio albums released by Pearl Jam, and his voice as well as guitar work is loved by rock music fans. His recent work including Water on the Road DVD and Ukulele Songs album is setting new records for sales across the globe. The artist continues to be a cultural icon for modern day progressive rock music scene, and Eddie Vedder tickets provide all music fans a prized opportunity to experience this super star perform before them.
